Lady Gaga to become fashion journalist

Lady Gaga
And guess who else is going to be doling out fashion advice soon?
Lady Gaga is all set to try her hands at journalism.
The singer and entrepreneur will give journalism a try as a new columnist for V Magazine, reports the New York Post.
"I have some exciting news little monsters," the pop singer tweeted Wednesday, adding "I begin next month as a Fashion+Art Columnist for VMagazine."
"V are proud to announce our newest columnist: Lady Gaga! Each issue, Mother Monster will put pen to the page, bringing us an editorial window into her fashion multiverse," the American fashion glossy said in a statement.
In anticipation of her upcoming column, for the magazine's May issue, readers and fans were asked to create an illustration of the pop singer donning her most memorable outfit.
"Rather than bore you with a run-of-the-mill author's headshot, (Lady) Gaga has asked that we hold a contest each issue in which applicants illustrate her for us," the magazine wrote to readers.
"We are asking all artists, creators, and little monsters to submit illustrations of our new columnist dressed in her most studious ensemble," the contest announcement added.

Britney walks into new airbrush row

Britney Spears: The PR still (left) is a far cry from how she looked performing this week (right)
Britney Spears has been accused of trying to dupe fans after releasing a heavily airbrushed image of herself.
The singer appeared to have shed pounds in glamorous publicity shots for her new album Femme Fatale.
The Toxic hitmaker looked super slender in a polka dot swimsuit, but in a gig on TV she looked much bigger.
She was seen bursting out of a leather basque and fishnet tights and appeared much older than in the album shots.
"Britney still looks good but she's changed a lot since she first found fame as a teenager," the Daily Star quoted a source as saying.
"The leather outfit made it impossible to hide any lumps and bumps but these photos make her look like a different person. It definitely looks like she's had a helping hand from technology," the source added.

Freida Pinto defends racy men's mag shoot

Freida Pinto
Freida Pinto has also found herself having to defend pictures recently. The Slumdog Millionaire star, who raised eyebrows last year with a series of racy shots for the US version of GQ, is now defending the photoshoot.
Rumours suggested that the photoshoot for the men's magazine was a deliberate attempt to shake off her 'nice-girl' image, but Pinto has now spoken out to stress that she was not manipulated into taking part and it was entirely her decision to pose for the pictures.
"The decision to do those pictures was mine. I definitely knew how I wanted to look. A stylist may have chosen the clothes but the decision to wear them was mine. I would hate to feel that I was being objectified," the Daily Star quoted her as telling You Magazine.
"I have always said that a woman's sexuality should not be used in a way that is demeaning to her. But, you know, I don't think this is a sexist issue any more because actors are strutting their stuff in photoshoots just as much as actresses now," she added.

Amber Heard Posts Sexy Photo Of Herself Dressed As Playboy Bunny For TV Role

Amber Heard Playboy
Amber Heard nabbed a role in NBC's upcoming drama The Playboy Club, and she's already offering a sneak peek at one of her outfits for the show. Amber uploaded the above picture to her Facebook with the message "On set of The Playboy Club...."
NBC has thus far ordered a pilot of the show, which takes place at the titular Playboy Club in Chicago during the 1960s and during a phase of blossoming sexuality in America. The show has already been compared to critical darling Mad Men, which takes place during the same era.
It will be very interesting to see how far NBC pushes the envelope when it comes to censorship. Either way, Amber Heard is looking fantastic!

Ke$ha Takes Off Her Clothes & Paints To 'Kill Time' While Touring

Kesha
Pop star Ke$ha has taken up a saucy new hobby to keep her amused on tour - naked painting.
The hitmaker is currently on the road in the United States, and the monotony of touring has inspired her to seek new ways of staving off boredom.
And she's come up with a bizarre activity to keep her mind occupied - she strips off and rolls around on a paint-splattered canvas.
Ke$ha tells music magazine Q, "I have recently taken up painting as a way of killing time on tour. I got a big canvas, threw some paints down and then stripped off and rolled around on it. It's very liberating. And very, very messy."

'American Idol' Recap: Thia And Naima Go Home On A Revamped Results Show

Naima and Thia eliminated
It only took them ten seasons, but the ‘Idol’ producers finally got it right.
Last night’s results show was the first in the show’s history that didn’t seem forced; didn’t seem like two-thirds filler, and didn’t feel like we were just sloughing through the hour while we waited for the 90 seconds we actually want to see. This was a results show that moved through swiftly with segments we actually wanted to watch.
And it was so simple: Just divide the group performances into several parts. Instead of trotting all the contestants out for one lame lip-synched choreography train, just put them into their little elimination groups for some solid performances and break up the show that way.
This change allowed for something interesting in every segment of the show, and the elimination of those endless 10-minute blocs that consisted of nothing more than Ryan reading names or overblown product advertisements masquerading as “looks inside The Idols’ lives.” This was a results show that I could look forward to watching every week. Even if there’s the chance the show could include Fantasia looking and sounding alarmingly bad and Jamie Foxx and Will.I.Am singing what may be the worst song of all time.
Of course, this wasn’t just another ‘Idol’ performance night and there were results (and eliminations) to be had. Two eliminations in fact and, as I predicted yesterday, Thia and Naima were the unlucky duo to be serenaded by David Cook’s recorded voice.
I never really got a feel for either of these two contestants, and never thought either were suited to the show. Naima’s overblown “any-culture-is-good-culture” attachments just don’t fit in the world of pop. In fact, the only place they don’t seem annoying would be to a few of the characters on ‘Portlandia’. She had a good voice, but wasn’t really interested in using it to win this competition.
Thia may have been more intent on a triumph, but she just wasn’t ready. She definitely has chops and a lot of talent, but she was just too inexperienced to figure out how to harness those gifts, and it showed in her lack of improvement as the show went on.
Neither of the eliminated two had any real shot at winning, meaning we’re that much closer to a seven-way showdown between this season’s real contenders topping this week’s power rankings.
But before we get to the power rankings, as always, I must remind you to follow me on Twitter @paynehumor before we get to the power rankings. So here we go!
Power Rankings:
1 (Rank Last Week: 1)  Scotty McCreery
According to ‘Dial Idol’ Scotty came in first in the voting this week, and that was after giving one of his weaker performances out of the one-hole. Clearly he’s got the biggest following right now.
2 (4)  Pia Toscano
Recent history has me reticent to put a female this high, but Pia is just so consistent and has such a radio-ready voice that I’m willing to go against my conventional wisdom and seriously consider her as a contender.
3 (2)  Jacob Lusk
This drop isn’t so much a damning of Jacob as it is a praising of Pia. Jacob’s still a very solid contender.
4 (8) Lauren Alaina
With Thia gone, Lauren now has the “young girls voting for young girls” vote all to herself. Plus, she’s improving every week and the judges absolutely adore her.
5 (4)  James Durbin
He puts on a show better than anyone, I just can’t help but think his act is going to wear thin after awhile, since he seems to do the same thing every single night.
6 (6)  Casey Abrams
The producers and the judges clearly love this guy even though I continue to not get it. He definitely got a bump this week after his surprising elimination last week, but that will soon fade, just as I predict he will.
7 (7)  Paul McDonald
I still think Paul has a shot, but that trip to the bottom three is certainly worrisome – even though I think that was more a product of the judges’ extremely misguided disliking of his performance. He could definitely bounce-back, but he’s a dark horse at best right now.
8 (5)  Stefano Langone
I thought Stefano had it, now I think we’re just waiting around to watch him hit some wrong notes, blow a performance, and be on his way.
9 (11)  Haley Reinhart
She’s improving, but I don’t think she has the chops to go the distance. Though I’m getting sick of predicting her to get voted off every week and watching her hang on. It’s tiring me out.
AI Final Nine
